Chevening is a UK government grants program for international students in the UK, which has been primarily aimed at developing leaders from around the world since 1983. Chevening is funded by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organizations and offers two types of grants: Chevening Scholarships and Chevening Fellowships. Recipients are personally selected by British Embassies and High Commissions around the world. The Chevening Scholarships are awarded to approximately 1,500 people each year.
